May 23, 24, & 25 - Orange Beach 2013

On Thursday my dad and Jon got up super early and went fishing with a guide.  Neither of them had fished in the ocean before.

They caught so many they had to throw some back.

It's so nice going on vacation with grandparents.  This is what I got to do a lot of the time.  Heaven!

This girl loved the sand.  She even had it in her eyelashes and it wasn't phasing her one bit.

That evening Jon and I cooked the fresh fish and made fish tacos.  Happy entertained the girls while we cooked.

I try not to be one of those people who love to take pictures of their food, but this had to be documented.  If you don't like fish, just eat it fresh.  That will make you change your mind about that.  This meal was absolutely delectable!

While we were cleaning up, Annabel insisted we put this life vest on her.  I think she was trying to tell us something.

I found these precious beach-themed smocked outfits on a facebook consignment page.  I love recycled clothing and so does my bank account.  I so wish this had been taken with our big camera.  I guess the blurry iphone picture will have to do.

My mom made brownies and brought them down to us on the beach.  Here's Annabel stuffing her face with one.

I love the reflection of an almost full moon on the water.

We left after lunch on Friday to head back home.

Because there aren't many safe stops between there and here, you either have to stop just 4 hours away from the beach, or drive all the way home.  Well, we weren't really wanting to do either, so we took a bit of a detour and went to West Monroe, LA for the night.  Since we were in Duck Dynasty world, I had to get a picture!
We didn't see any more celebrities, because it turns out they were at the same beach as us the same week we were!

And if you're an even bigger DD fan than me and have ever contemplated moving to West Monroe, remember this picture and think again.  This is their water.  And yes, it tastes as bad as it looks.

The next morning Adeline must have been completely worn out because she slept for over an hour while Annabel made every noise possible and Jon and I got ready to get back on the road.

And this was me about 2 hours from home on Saturday.  Get me out of this car!!!

Thankfully we made it all in one piece.  What a great week spent relaxing with family.  We are so thankful for that blessing, but also glad to be back home.

May 21 & 22 - Orange Beach 2013

On Tuesday we spent the day at the beach and swimming pools.  The condo had both an outdoor and indoor pool.  The outdoor pool was pretty frigid, so the girls wanted mostly to swim in the indoor pool. It felt like a bathtub so that was fine with me!

Jon was playing around with the camera settings Tuesday morning and got these sweet pictures of a sleepy-eyed Annabel.  Little Annabel did not much appreciate being away from her bed.  She woke up around 6am every morning, while at home she usually sleeps until after 8!

That night we got all dressed again and went to our favorite restaurant in Orange Beach.  Grazie Italian Seafood.  Yumm-O!

Nana trying to convince Adeline she had to get ready so we could go eat...

At Christmas my mom decided she wanted her cards for 2013 to have a picture of all of us on them.  So, we started planning our photos then.  We thought the beach would be the perfect place for them.  Here's a little sneak peek!

After the pictures, we literally broke the camera!  Our camera battery died and we couldn't find a replacement, so all the rest of the photos from the trip are from my phone.  :(

Another emergency story alert!!  As we were walking down to the beach to take the aforementioned photos, Annabel fell.  I was still inside changing, but mom said it was nothing out of the ordinary and it was in the grass.  We were able to get her to stop crying for some pictures, but as I put her down to let her walk she started crying hysterically for 30 minutes afterwards.  She would not move her right arm one inch and was in so much pain she wouldn't even hold her head up.  She was completely limp against me and wouldn't let anyone else hold her.  I thought maybe her elbow was out of socket and tried putting it back in place, but that only made her cry more.  Jon and I decided she needed x-rays.  We were sure it was broken.  She cried non-stop for the next hour as we waited and took x-rays, etc.  They decided it was only sprained, wrapped it in an ace bandage and sent us home.  As soon as it was wrapped, she stopped crying.  She and my mom slept on the foldout couch that night so Nana could keep a close eye on her.  The next morning she pulled the bandage off and never once acted like it hurt again!  My mom and I decided she had a miraculous healing from God, because there's no way the drama she exhibited the night before could have just been nothing.  Hah!

On Wednesday we headed to the outlet mall.  Good planning, too, because it was cloudy and sprinkled a little throughout the day.  We ate at Lambert's (home of the throwed roll) for lunch, then Happy & Daddy took the girls back to the condo for naps while my mom and I shopped until we dropped.
I found these dresses for $5 at Walmart and my sweet MIL monogrammed them.  Voila!  Instant boutique look!

May 19 & 20 - Orange Beach 2013

Our internet connection in our condo was pretty spotty, so I wasn't able to blog while we were there.  I hope I can remember everything now!

Sunday was our first full day at the beach.  We decided to not leave our condo that day.  We were tired of being in the car and ready for some fun in the sun!  We spent nearly all day at the beach.

This little girl was loving the sand.

On Monday Jon and I went parasailing.  My mom took this picture of us from the back porch of our condo.

That evening we decided we wanted to put on real clothes and go out.  We went down to The Wharf and rode the ferris wheel.

We took the girls to Build-A-Bear.  Adeline said, "I can't build a bear.  I not Jesus!"

After dinner we had some fun, then Jon and I went to see a movie and my parents took the girls home and put them to bed.

What a fun day!
