July Part 2

Say what?  It's July 31 already?  How did that happen?  Here's what we've been up to the last part of July....

Annabel is our accident-prone child.  She gets hurt every single day.  No exaggeration.  Anyway, the other night she started crying yet again and Jon said, "What now?"  Adeline said, "She was standing on the pole and she fell off."  Jon, very confused, said, "How can she stand on something vertical?"  Adeline said, "Like this!"  Oh my word..these are my children, but sometimes I'm not sure where they came from.  I mean really somedays I'm just completely in awe of the things they do.  Is it having siblings and egging each other on that causes such craziness, or is it all coming from Jon?  I know I was never like this as a child..hah!

Mornings are rough around here.  They all three wake up right around the same time and Whitt needs to be nursed right away.  They get pretty jealous of the attention I'm giving him and whine and fight and make me want to pull my hair out just about every morning for the first hour or so.  This particular morning Adeline had just said, "I need breakfast! I'm so hungry from all that sleeping!"  She also said to me, "Mommy, you have three little kids.  Do you know how to take care of three kids?"  Like, hint hint, we have to be fed!

That was followed by this fight between my girls..
Annabel: Don't look at me!  Stop it!
Adeline: I AM going to look at you.  All night long I was asleep and couldn't look at you so now I'm going to look at you as much as I want!
Annabel: STOOOOP!!! (with tears involved)

They really are quite entertaining.

And Whitt is growing like a weed.  His 3-6 month onesies barely snap in the stride and I know his thighs aren't much to some of you, but he's got the chunkiest thighs any of my babies have had.  I love it!

Which, by the way, if breastfeeding makes you faint, don't read this, but I want it documented for me.  My milk with the girls was like skim milk.  You could see through it like water.  With him it's like pure cream.  It's the craziest thing.  How does that even happen?

So, this is funny, and I placed this picture strategically here after bragging about how big Whitt is.  Just when I thought my son was huge, my MIL sends me this picture of Jon when he was 1 MONTH OLD!  Oh man, I can't stop laughing.  Now that, my friends, is a giant!  That's his 5 year old sister next to him.  He's almost as big as her..haha!

Husband brag alert...mine is the best.  He is always happy to see his family at the end of the day, and doesn't stop helping me all evening long.  We make a good team.

He's getting stronger and stronger.

Toys, toys everywhere....EVERYWHERE!

We took care of our neighbors' dog last week while they were out of town.  Adeline was such a big helper and helped me walk her (& Tulip) every night.

Whitt has started pulling things to his mouth, but he still keeps his hands in fists a lot.

We tried out a new hairstyle the other night.  I think this might be a good go-to when school starts.

And we had a family bowling night.  So much fun!

We visited with Murry one night.  Sweet cousins pulling out every single toy at Murry's house.

I love these two photos of my three before church last week..

Whitt fell asleep on a walk one night, so we just pushed the stroller in the house.

I'm trying to get him attached to a lovey, so I've been offering different ones lately.  Right now he's liking the giraffe like his cousin Cannon.  He's also started rolling onto his side this week.  Won't be long until he's going all the way over.

Adeline made a prayer chain at church on Sunday with people she wanted to pray for.  We went through it and prayed for all her friends, then Annabel had a fit & said, "What about Reagan?!?" so I told her to pray for Reagan.  She said, "God is great, God is good, let us thank him for Reagan!" Love it!

Super Baby!

He looks like a little old man here..

And like a miniature Jon here...

This one looks like her daddy too, especially when she sticks her tongue out while concentrating.

He really is getting so strong and wanting to sit up all the time.  I think he'll crawl and walk before the girls did.  We shall see...

And that brings us to the end of July.  I feel like we didn't do much of anything all summer, but tomorrow is August 1 and, by the looks of my calendar, we aren't going to have time to sit down in August.  Bring it on!

July Part 1

I feel like we really haven't done much of anything this summer, but somehow I still have a lot of pictures.

Adeline found this princess dress I'd bought back in the winter in her closet the other day.  She wants to wear it every day now.

Whitt is starting to grow out of his evening crankiness and likes to sit with his daddy and watch the news.

Juliet and Murry brought us dinner one night and the girls had a great time playing outside after we ate.  I love that we have at least one cousin that lives nearby.

Whitt graduated out of his newborn gowns he was sleeping in into big boy pjs.  I always bought the footed ones for my girls because I was afraid they were cold.  I bought him the ones without feet because he sweats like a grown man.

We started using the bumbo.  He loves it.

On this particular morning she spilled her cereal, an apple sauce pouch, and a cup of mandarin oranges.  Quite frustrating, but if I've gathered my manna that day I can always hear the Holy Spirit whisper to me, "This is motherhood.  Not only moments when things are going well.  How are you going to handle this?  Are you going to extend to her the grace I freely give to you?"

Sometimes we get time to do a little school prep, but most of the time I feel like I'm barely keeping my head above water.

These two.  Melt my heart!  Jon is a fantastic girl daddy, but I am so glad he got a little boy.  I know they will be the best of friends.

Annabel was lying here with him telling him all kinds of stuff one morning.  So sweet!

And he thinks he can sit up.  I could barely get him to lean back against the chair.

Annabel said, "I'm going to climb up here!" I asked why and she said, "because I want to jump off!"  I knew that probably wasn't the best idea, but I figured she better learn, and I somewhat thought she might chicken out.  I was wrong.  When she landed she said, "ouch! That hurt my hiney! I not going to do that again."
Watching Frozen one night before bed, for the millionth time.  See what I mean about him being an excellent girl daddy?

One Saturday morning our church had a mother/daughter tea party.  It was so much fun!  They really made it so cute and grown-up.  Adeline thought it was the most special thing ever.

While the girls were having their tea, Jon and Whitt went on their first father/son trip to Cabela's.  Whitt got to try out a boat.  Something funny..Jon is really anti bags or carrying anything that might not seem manly.  So, he will barely even carry an infant carrier around and he's definitely never going to put on a baby carrier.  Therefore, he walked all around Cabela's with Whitt in his arms.  That mental picture just cracks me up.

Adeline has been really interested in building blocks lately, so we bought her some junior legos.  She and Jon had so much fun putting them together.

Last week, Adeline went to a gymnastics camp every morning from 8-12.  It was nice to spend some one-on-one with Annabel while Whitt napped.

However, all our fun plans were canceled because her tonsils flared up again, so we just spent most of the week cuddling.

Whew...enough pictures for one post.  July Part 2 coming soon....

Whitt's 1st Trip to Texas

I've been waiting for Whitt to get his 2 month vaccines before we headed to Texas.  We have so many people to see when we go there that I wanted to make sure he was strong enough to hopefully stay well.  I also needed to go when Jon could take off work and go with us, since Whitt is not a huge fan of the car.  I needed to be able to sit in the back with him and keep that paci in his mouth.  There was no way I was about to listen to him scream for 4.5 hours driving by myself!

He did a whole lot better than I feared he would.  He went right to sleep when we left swim lessons (probably because he'd been screaming for two hours) and he slept until about an hour away from our destination.  I nursed him there, and he only fussed for about 20 minutes before we made it to Jon's parents' house.

Annabel faked me out.  I took this picture because I was so excited about having 2 out of 3 kids sleeping, but she opened her eyes right afterwards and never shut up the rest of the way home.

Tiny made these precious princess dress-up accessories.  You know we all had to play.

We went swimming at my grandmother's house twice.  Whitt went with us one of the times so he could meet his MiMi and Pops.

We had so many yummy treats while we were there.  Homemade ice cream and lots of homegrown veggies.

Uncle Emil, Aunt Kiersten, and Cousin Margot came into town to meet their new nephew/cousin as well.  My girls always have so much fun with Emil.  They're styling his beard here.

My grandpa gave me this 1970 Chevelle several years ago, but he keeps it because he likes to work on it, plus I don't have anywhere to put it here.  He recently got a new paint job on it.  I love it!  Maybe Whitt will drive it one day.

We spent each night at Jon's parents' because it's just easier to stay at one place rather than pack up ALL our stuff to move it back and forth, but we still got to see my parents a lot.  They came over to Jon's parents' several times and we spent most of Sunday at their house.

My dad was so excited to put Whitt in the baby swing.  I tried to explain to him that baby swings are still for babies who can sit up, but he just had to let him try it out.  He liked it for a while.

Cousin Shiloh went swimming with us on Sunday.

Sunday night we had dinner at my other grandmother's house.  Whitt was pretty cranky while we were there and finally took a little nap on his Nana.

On Monday we hung around until the afternoon to get on the road.  Jon took the girls riding on his dad's 4-wheeler and swang on the porch swing some.  Annabel just about fell asleep.

Whitt cried more on the way home than he did on the way there, but still not that bad.  Overall, it was a great trip, but like always, I wish I'd taken more pictures!
