Whitt - 11 Months

Whitt is now less than a month away from a being a whole year old!  How has that already happened?

I have no idea how tall he is or how much he weighs, because, thank you Jesus, we haven't been to the doctor since he was 9 months old.

He now has 5 teeth - two on top & three on bottom.

He's walking a lot, but it's still not his full-time means of transportation.

He thinks it's hilarious when his sisters jump out & scare him.

He sleeps all night and loves his pacifier.

He wears 12-18 & 18-24 month clothes, size 4 diapers & size 4 shoes.

He says:

  1. Momma
  2. Dada
  3. Adda (Adeline)
  4. Bye Bye
  5. More
  6. Thank you
  7. Tractor
He shakes his head no and will lay facedown in a quiet temper tantrum when you tell him no about something.  He gets the most mad at night when you're trying to get his pajamas on after a bath.  He kicks and screams every night.

He has started hiding things all over the house.  I found the tv remote in a kitchen drawer the other day.

He gets so excited and dances every time he hears music.

His favorite toy to play with is the plastic piggy bank with the big coins.  He loves putting things in and out of containers.  He also likes to throw balls and push his cars/trucks around the house.

He is very active and most of his 11 month photo shoot went like this.

We love you so much, sweet, smart, funny boy!

Easter Sunday

Glory hallelujah, He is risen!  I love Easter.  I love the promise that it holds and the love that it shows.  Thank you, Lord, for your sacrifice for me!

Somehow or another, the Easter buckets get bigger with each kid.  Each time the Easter Bunny thinks he's ordering the same size as the previous bucket, but then when it gets here, it's bigger.  So far, nobody has noticed.  EB at least makes sure they have the same amount of stuff in them.

I'm not sure what was so funny, but thanks, Nana & Happy for getting us all to look at the camera!  And thanks for getting to our house early enough to help us get everyone dressed and out the door in time.

I just can't get enough of this cuteness.  If it wasn't a wrestling match, I'd put him in suspenders and a bow tie every day.

They all loved going through their goodies.

The week before Easter was warm and gorgeous.  Easter day was cold and rainy.  So we hunted eggs in the house.  Whitt even got in on the action.

We were blessed to have our family come to us this year.  My parents, Jon's parents, and Kiersten, Emil and Margot all came in from out of town.  Add Shane, Juliet, Murry, and our friends, the Blounts, and we had a house full of love and blessings!  So thankful!

Thank You, thank You, thank You, Jesus!

Pre-Easter Festivities

We had a busy week leading up to Easter.

We had our usual visit to the nursing home with our friends.  I love how much our kids love this and look forward to it and expect it for every holiday.

I didn't get a prepared craft ahead of time, so I cut up some index cards the morning we were supposed to go visit, and told the girls to decorate them for Easter.  I was super impressed with Adeline's creations.

Lashes & curls.

And I still can't get over that I have one big enough to ride a bike around the block.  How'd that happen?

She was moved to a new class at BSF last week, so we chose a dress with her name on it to help her teachers out just a bit.  Hah!  She's pretty easy going, so she did great with the new classroom.  However, she did tell me, "I didn't learn anything about God, but we did go on a bear hunt!"

We played outside with Kaylor after KDO while we waited for their big sisters to get out of school.

That long dress tripped her up and made her fall and scrape her knee!  She wasn't too upset about it, though, because she knew she'd get a bandaid out of it.

Happy and Nana came to visit for Easter and brought fun Easter treats.  I'd just said, "let's put those confetti eggs away until we can go outside" when Whitt found one and smashed it on the floor.

Wasn't Nana creative with her candy box Easter baskets?

And my "Easter basket" has been some sort of bag or purse since I was in about high school.  This year it's a huge Jon Hart beach/pool bag.  I'm super excited!

On Saturday, we went to our church's helicopter egg drop.  We'd never been before and I thought it was so cool.  Whitt, however, was terrified of the helicopter.

That evening, we all went over to Shane & Juliet's house for a BBQ dinner on their deck.  Such a fun time with family!

We took a pink bunny cake and I loved how these cousins reminded me of me and my cousins when we were little.  Before we could even cut the cake they were all claiming certain body parts.  Adeline wanted the eyes & mouth, Murry wanted the teeth, and Annabel wanted the ears.  Since two grandmas were around, they made sure that everyone got what they wanted.

Little Man couldn't hang.  It had been a long day for him.

Spring Break - Part 2

For the second part of Spring Break, we took a little Tour de Texas.  The kids and I went to my parents' house on Wednesday.

It was such a pretty day, so we spent al the rest of the daylight outside.

The next morning, the girls and I got up and left for Dallas right after breakfast.

Our first stop was the American Girl doll store and restaurant.  I have been wanting to take my little girl there since I found out Adeline was a girl when I was pregnant with her.

We met one of my college roommates, Lindsey, and her two girls, Caroline & Samantha there for lunch.  It was so fun catching up and watching our girls play.  (You can see Samantha's cute little feet sticking out of the blanket in the carseat if you look very closely.)

And you can't go to the Galleria without doing a little bit of shopping.

My mom sent me pictures of my boy while I was away.  It was the first time I'd left him overnight.

That evening, we met Amanda, Emma, Kiersten, and Margot for dinner and Frozen on Ice!

We had such a fantastic time experiencing that through the eyes of our little girls.
After the show, which wasn't over until after 9:00pm, we went to spend the night at Amanda's.  However, all normal routes to her house were closed due to construction (thanks a lot, Dallas) so we had to take some roundabout detour that took FOREVER!  Our GPSes had no idea what they were doing and kept trying to get us to take u-turns.  After some initial panic, we figured out how to get there, but it was exhausting and STRESSFUL!  I think all of us, kids included, shed a few tears on that adventure.

The next morning, I met my dad and my cousin Kasey, in Arlington, switched vehicles with them, and they took my girls back to my hometown to stay with my parents and I went to pick up Jon from the airport.  Then, he and I were off to a weekend wedding adventure in Fredericksburg, TX.

And more pictures from my parents of my  kids not missing me at all...

We had such a good time celebrating Claudia & Jarrod getting hitched.

These three guys have been best friends, literally, since birth.

When I sent the picture of Jon and I to my parents to show the girls, they said, "We want to see a picture of the bride!" so then I had to send them this one.  Hah!

We even got to put our dance lessons to good use.

The 7 hour drive back to my parents' house was absolutely gorgeous.  I made Jon pull over and let me take a picture of the bluebonnets at one point.

We spent Sunday night at my parents' then headed back home on Monday.  Whitt posed with his kids' meal toy from Sonic since he can now finish off a whole one by himself.

It was a wonderful Spring Break!
