We made our first stop at a Chick-Fil-A in North Little Rock for lunch and a bit of play time.
We made it another 2 hours before the toilet called my name, then we didn't stop again until Pearl, MS. We drove through a pretty little town called Lake Providence, LA. It was so beautiful with all the huge cypress trees & the water. We saw this pretty little cemetery there, too.
The Mighty Mississippi was not as high as I thought it would be, but still high.
We stayed at a hotel within walking distance of a Bass Pro. I thought it'd be a good place to stay to let Adeline do some running around since she had been stuck in the car for so long. I think we checked into the hotel around 5:00. Adeline loved all the fish & the stuffed animals.
We went out to eat and were in bed by 8:30. We didn't want to have to unpack the pack & play, so we got a room with 2 doubles and Adeline and I slept together. I was really worried about it, but she did great.
We woke up the next morning and my parents had made it to our hotel while we were sleeping. We all went to breakfast then got on the road. We only had to drive about 5 hours, but we took our time and stopped for lunch and a potty break. Adeline did great in the car. As long as we were changing out DVDs & feeding her snacks, she was happy.
We made it to our condo and we all just about squealed with excitement at how perfect it is. This is our view from the patio off our condo.
You can just walk right out onto the beach. We love it and are so looking forward to spending a whole week here. We quickly unpacked then headed to the beach for Adeline's first look at the ocean. She LOVES it!
Then my mom & I went to the grocery store to stock-up for the week while Jon, my dad, & Adeline spent more time on the beach and exploring the condos.
Not long after grocery shopping we went out to eat, then spent a little more time on the beach before it was bath & bedtime.
Adeline's favorite thing to do is sit in water & pick up handfuls of sand, then as the water comes up to her, then she throws both handfuls into the water. It was pretty cool outside and the water was chilly and she was shivering, but loving every minute.
Now she is passed out and I'm not far behind her!
Those beach pictures of Adeline need to be framed!! So cute!!
