I watched a YouTube video on how to french braid & voila..my first attempt!
Waiting our turn to swim. I promise I didn't pose her like this.
Being cute.
Monday night we went to Fayetteville to eat at CFA and attend a little family concert at the library. The firemen were at CFA letting kids check out their truck!
Annabel eating some squash. Silly girl!
Day #2 of Swim Lessons
Then BAM! Tuesday night at dinner Adeline got really cranky and complained of her tummy hurting. She came to get in my lap and she was burning up! We treated the fever and put her to bed. The rest of the week is kind of a blur of doctor visits, sleepless nights, around the clock motrin, crying, screaming, you get the picture. The doctor tested her for just about everything under the moon and couldn't find anything, so it was proclaimed to be a virus. She has sores in her mouth like Hand-Foot-Mouth, but nowhere but her mouth, so the doctor didn't think it was that. I have diagnosed her with the virus that causes fever blisters; gingivostomatitis. Jon and I both have fever blisters so it was inevitable that she'd get the virus from us, but who knew the initial onset of the virus could be this bad? She can hardly eat anything that doesn't just slide right down, she won't let us brush her teeth, and she cries A LOT. The crying has been the worst ever. She ran a fever until Friday night, and hasn't had one since, but she's still not completely back to normal. I want my baby to get well and stay that way!!
She's been sleeping a lot in our bed which she's never done before. Just about every night since Tuesday she's come in to our room in the middle of the night. I've also been letting her nap in there so I won't have to worry about Little Sister waking her up before she's ready.
Thankfully this sweet baby has stayed well and healthy through it all.
But I think it may be time for some new pajamas!
Since Adeline had been fever-free for 24 hours by Saturday night, Jon and I decided to invest in our relationship and go out on a date night. I'm telling you, after the week we'd had, we really needed it. Kalee came over to watch the girls while Jon and I went to eat AND to a movie!
Adeline was feeling a lot better yesterday so we decided to get out of the house and go to the lake with Jon's boss and his sweet family. It takes less than 10 minutes to get there from our house so I don't know why we've never gone before! Adeline and Bailey had a great time together eating doritos and swimming. I let Adeline eat as many doritos as she wanted because it was the first solid food she'd eaten without crying in a long time.
And praise be to God that there's a rainbow at the end of every storm! Adeline is feeling even better today, so I declared it a "NO TV DAY." We had a lesson on rainbows instead. We read the Noah story in her Bible, had a rainbow scavenger hunt, and improved our fine motor skills with some cutting and gluing.
She had to find something the same color as the piece of paper I gave her.
And when all the "somethings" were found, she got a skittley rainbow treat.
I know this is not the colors of a real rainbow, but they're the skittles colors. :)
Now we just have plans to swim & celebrate July 4th!
If you're going through a storm, I hope your rainbow is on the horizon.
Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.
Genesis 9:16
Love this message! Your baby girl is getting cuter by the day, I pray she stays healthy! As for Doritos, they have corn in them! that's excellent :) everyone has to celebrate the small feats. Happy Summer
ReplyDeleteHi! I love reading your blog. Your girls are too cute. My baby is almost 8 months old so not too far behind Annabel. I was wondering what brand/type of life jacket that is Annabel is wearing. We have a lake house and Brooklyn hates her life jacket which means no boat rides. Annabel's life jacket looks perfect. Thanks!!
