Painting Projects

Now I am not a crafty person. In fact, I usually try to avoid being crafty at all costs. I used to just buy things exactly how I wanted them rather than trying to make them better on my own. However, when I started making and spending my own money, I became a lot more resourceful. We were given this very adorable antique rocking chair, but the problem was it did not match Adeline's nursery. I decided to change that.

Jon sanded off the majority of the red paint.

I painted it green and found stencils to put on it. Jon & I placed the stencils and he painted the pink part. I am so proud of us! I just keep looking at it in disbelief.

I also found this picture frame on clearance at Target. It had all the right colors for Adeline's room except for the brown stripe.

Now we just need a precious little Adeline picture to put in it!

First Baby Shower

We had our first baby shower last weekend in Flower Mound, TX. One of my best friends from childhood, my best friend from college, and my wonderful sister-in-law all live in the DFW area and that's where a lot of my friends and family live. I went to college and graduate school there, so it was very nice to be able to have a shower close to them all.

With the hostesses: Ashley from TCU, Amanda from NB, and Kiersten my SIL.

The dessert table. Yummy Sprinkles cupcakes!

The very cute "ice chest."

The adorable decorations.
Adeline got so many cute things.

My very talented MIL made this!

Look at the precious onesie with matching tutu & headband

My very talented SIL made this! I'm sure you're starting to wonder how I got into this family.

Adeline's first TCU dress. I can't wait to take her to a football game next year!

Her first monogrammed items. Adeline Blythe Richey

I also got to see some very good friends that I miss dearly!

My BFF from 2nd grade and the amazingly adorable diaper cake she made.

The twins I nannied all through graduate school. I can't believe they're almost 5!

My college roommate and best friend (minus her twin).

Ashley again and my wonderful college neighbor.

We got so many other great things, but I can't post pictures of it all. I'm so thankful to have such wonderful family and friends. Adeline is going to be a very loved little girl!
