3rd Anniversary

Jon and I have been married for 3 years! Three years isn't a long time, and it has gone by fast, but we've done a lot in 3 years.

We got married on top of a mountain in Red River, New Mexico (9/1/2007)

We left Dallas and moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas (May 2008)

We honeymooned in Europe (May/June 2008)

We got Hunter, our 3rd dog (June 2008)

I graduated from OT school (December 2008)

We survived a massive ice storm (January 2009)

We got pregnant (February 2009) picture is from July

We bought a house (March 2009)

We got ready for a baby & waited & waited (Summer/Fall 2009)

We had our precious little girl (November 2009)

Since then we've had many firsts and magical moments, but they've all been documented on here already.

These past 3 years have been the best in my life. When I graduated college and still had not found the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, I thought I was in for a long road ahead. Who knew that God intended for me to "meet" and marry a man from my hometown in just over a year? I knew within the first couple months of dating Jon that he was "the one". He has only further proved that point over and over again since then. He is the best husband a girl could ask for. He can't always read my mind and he doesn't always do exactly what I want, but he makes up for it in his gentle, dependable, loving ways. He is my rock and I'm so thankful he is my husband and the father of my sweet baby. I can't imagine my life without him.

Let the Good Times Roll

We've had a busy, fun-filled weekend. We started off Friday by having a play date with Rebekah & Cilla. As soon as we got there, Adeline headed straight to the toy closet and started pulling things out.
Cilla tried to teach Adeline to clap
We had such a great time and Adeline played so hard that she took a great nap that afternoon. (I may or may not have napped too.) That night we went out on another family date. We ate dinner at Hammon Tree's on Dixon and Adeline got to order her very first meal of her own at a restaurant! We got her half a grilled cheese and she ate about 1/3 of it, but absolutely loved it!
For dessert, we walked to Moonberries (Orange Mango) and enjoyed some yummy yogurt. Afterwards, we went to Wilson Park and walked around.
I just love our little family nights out! Later that evening, I met Shannon for a late movie. This is the second time we've done this, and even though it makes for a late night, I've decided it's the perfect time for a movie with a friend. I can still spend the evening with my honey and my sweet girl and still enjoy some Mommy time after they're all tucked in.

Saturday, we got up and hit some garage sales that were going on in our neighborhood then we made some yummy blueberry pancakes for breakfast. We made a little baby one for Adeline and she devoured it. She's not supposed to eat berries yet, so hers just had a tiny bit of blueberry juice in it. While we were cooking breakfast, Adeline started clapping! In my dad's words, "Now her OT Momma can hold her head up at work."

Later that morning, Jon's parents were in town so we spent some time with them. She showed off her accessorizing skills.
While Adeline napped, my MIL and I went to the new JoAnn's in Fayetteville. She is making Adeline a dress to wear for her first birthday, and a few other cute things. We had lots of fabric to buy. Shannon also met us there to shop for some future projects she has up her sleeves. :) That night, Jon's and Jarrod's families came over for a big fish fry. Adeline got to try her first piece of fried fish and she loved it! (I know you're thinking "what doesn't this child love" & I hope it stays that way!) She ate an entire piece of catfish herself.
Showing off her clapping skills (& teeth) in the bathtub.
Adeline with her Tiny & Big T before church. Jon's mom is so talented. She made this little dress for Adeline!
We had our usual Sunday afternoon with a big nap and frozen pizza in front of the TV. My life is so full of happiness every day and I am so very thankful to God!

For Sale

I promise not to do this frequently, but I'm desperately trying to get rid of this desk. We have decided to turn our office into a playroom, so we need to sell it. It looks just like new and it's solid wood. I got it from Haverty's Furniture, but it looks like it could be from Pottery Barn. Please contact me if you're interested!

Week with Nana

My mom came in town this past week to get some Nana time in while Jon and I worked. We didn't get many pictures, but my mom took a few with her phone and texted them to me throughout the day.
Tuesday morning breakfast
Swinging

Mom brought Adeline to eat lunch with me every day so that was very nice. She got to play in the ball pit some.
She wasn't quite sure what to think.
Reading some books Wednesday morning.

I did some rearranging in the kitchen on Monday since Adeline kept getting into everything. I left a bottom drawer and cabinet empty to put some toys in for her to play with while we're cooking dinner. When my mom got into town Monday evening, we went to Target to find some toys. We found a cute little pot with little vegetables and a spoon in it, and this little baby kitchen. She loves both of them!
Nana and Adeline had a great time together. I wish Nana could be here every week. She was such a huge help to me! I came home to dinner on the table, then she cleaned up while we got Adeline ready for bed, not to mention all the other things she did around the house. But most of all, it was so nice knowing Adeline was getting to spend time with someone who loves her so very much.

What the doctor said...

Well, we finally had our 9 month well-child appointment on Monday. It kept getting rescheduled for some reason! Adeline checked out as healthy as can be.
Her stats are as follows:
  • Weight: 18lb, 6oz - 50%
  • Head circumference: 18 inches - 55%
  • Height: 29.75 inches - 95%
Everything looks great. She's pulling up and cruising just like she should be. The doctor said she looks for babies to have 1-2 words by the time they're a year old, so Adeline is ahead of schedule on that. She said I shouldn't worry about her not clapping since she's feeding herself, transferring objects from one hand to another, etc. She looked in Adeline's mouth and found 8 teeth! I thought she only had 4! I guess she's counting teeth as soon as she can see them under the gums. She has 4 on bottom & 4 on top! Poor baby got her toe pricked to check her iron levels and they were great, so no need for any supplements. She didn't even whimper, either. The doctor also said to start giving her breast milk in the straw sippy cup when I'm away instead of in a bottle. Nana will give that a try this week. (I wrote this on Monday. Nana did give it a try, it didn't go so well.) She also said I could start mixing in whole cow's milk with her breast milk bottles around 10 months. However, I have so much breast milk saved that I'll probably wait a little longer for that. I do plan to stop nursing by the time she's a year old, though. Adeline has some pretty bad excema on her cheeks and the folds of her arms and legs. She gave me some sample prescription cream for that. We'll give it a try and see if it helps. She said no need for food allergy testing now because she's so young and will probably grow out of whatever is causing the cheeks to flair up. I think that's all.

Weekend Fun

Come back, weekend! Where did you go?

We started off our weekend by going out on a date as a family. Jon, Adeline, and I ate an early dinner at Marketplace (yummy!). While we were there, we decided to see if Adeline could drink out of a straw. She tried for about 5 seconds, then she got it! She couldn't get enough and we were so proud. I called both the grandmas right then to tell them her new trick. Jon was even so proud of her that he let her take a swig of sweet tea. Afterwards, we took dinner to Katie & Jason and their sweet boys. Then we went out for ice cream. It was a perfect evening.

Saturday, I had to work for a little while at HealthSouth. Jon's sister and brother-in-law came in town, so they got to visit some while I was at work. When I got home, we all took a little nap, then Shane, Juliet, Kiersten, & Emil came back over for Juliet's birthday dinner.
Adeline really enjoyed playing with her Uncle Emil.
And hanging out with her Aunt Kiersten
Juliet turned the big 3-0! We had some yummy stir fry and then everyone but Adeline and I went to the Demolition Derby. My sweet girl and I enjoyed a quiet evening of bonding at home. I decided it was time to step it up in the baby food making. I made her some turnips with broccoli and parmesan cheese. The recipe called for parsnips, but the grocery store didn't have any. I used turnips instead.
The turnips are in chunks and the broccoli is pureed. I think she likes the flavor, but is not so sure about the chunks.
Adeline has learned how to carry things while crawling, or using her hands in any way. I guess Tulip taught her to use her mouth. I think it's adorable!
I just love this sweet face.

Sunday at church we had our big Fall Kickoff Sunday. Bobby Bowden came to speak and we were asked to wear our favorite team's shirt. You better believe we represented the Horned Frogs! (Not Jon, just A and me.)
Getting ready
Posing together

After church, we had a big tailgate party. We took some teenage brothers I know with us for the fun. Adeline just loves them! They do a great job of entertaining her in the car.
We had a good time, but it was so hot. We napped, then woke up to a fussy baby. She must be getting another tooth because it's been rough today, too. We're headed now to her 9 month well-child check-up. Will give stats later! But first, I must leave you with a cute picture of my other daughter!

We Met on eBay

Not really. We met through blog world, but my grandpa calls my blog "eBay" and it's kind of stuck.

On Monday, Adeline and I met Rebekah & Cilla for lunch at Chick-Fil-A. We had such a great time visiting and getting to know one another. However, we decided that we should meet at our houses next time since the little ones really don't like to sit still for that long. :)

We like to party...

We had a day full of partying yesterday. It started off with a sprinkle for Desty & Travis at Jason's Deli.
Little Miss being so good
Davin & Payton
Stacy & Parker
Abby & Ava & Desty
Heather, Zach & Hailey
Michele, Aubrie & Kirk
The Colemans: Adam, Helga, & Noah
My 2 loves
I was supposed to go to Jennifer & Jillian's shower in the afternoon, but didn't make it because I was getting ready for our evening. We threw a going-away party for Nick & Brandi Simpson. We grilled hamburgers & hot dogs & played some ladder ball and had an all around good time.
I didn't get a picture of the couple together, but I got a pic of all the girls.
It cooled off drastically yesterday, so it was so nice sitting outside & playing some ladder ball. We will miss you so much, Nick & Brandi!

Caught in the Act

Caught in the act of stealing our hearts...
In the act of grabbing the camera....
Snooping in the drawers.....
Throwing a little fit......
Emptying the contents of her drawer....
Digging in the dishwasher.....
