Gorgeous!

That's what it's been here the past few days.  Last week it rained nearly all week so we stayed indoors for a few too many days in a row.

Wednesday night we put Annabel in the big high-chair for the first time.  She liked sitting there, but still is not too crazy about solids.  She really only likes rice cereal, sweet potatoes, and peaches so far.  We're still trying, though.

And of course, Adeline had to have her picture taken as well.  She is not picky by any means and was devouring a taco salad when I took this picture.  What 2 year old eats taco salad?  Seriously?!?

Thursday it was still a little cold and rainy so we moved our park play date with Cilla to CFA instead.  We could not get these two to sit still for a picture.

Annabel was happy as can be in her carseat the whole time.

That evening, I had taken her activity gym apart so I could wash the mat.  She decided she wanted to play with the toys even though they weren't attached to the mat.  She rolled over to them and I found her like this..

Friday night we met Shane, Juliet, and Murry out for dinner at one of our favorites, Hammontree's.  Annabel sat in a restaurant high-chair for the first time.

Afterwards, we did a bit of walking the Fayetteville trails.  It was still pretty cold outside, but at least it wasn't raining.

When we got home, we converted Adeline's crib into a toddler bed.  We sat and watched Daddy while he did all the work.

And Annabel decided to get up on all fours..still not crawling, though.

Adeline gathered up all her babies inside her bumpers.

Then she had to test out the big girl bed.

She has done great with the transition!  I am pleasantly surprised.  She rolled out a couple times Friday night, but Saturday we bought a pool noodle to put under the fitted sheet and that has solved the problem.  She stays in until she wakes up after nap or in the mornings, then she gets up and comes in our room like such a big girl.  I'm so happy!

Saturday was gorgeous so we met Shannon & Westin for a walk and some playground time at Lake Fayetteville.

We spent nearly the whole rest of the day out in the backyard.  The girls tried out their new chairs in their playhouse.

And we bought and assembled patio furniture since we can now enjoy our dog-free backyard.  We have eaten out there the last several meals.  It's so nice!

At one point in the middle of the night Saturday I saw Adeline like this.  Haha!

Sunday we went to church and the girls wore their pretty little Noah's ark dresses in honor of all the rain we'd had the past week.  Thank you, Tater Tot!

When I nursed Annabel at church, she passed out in a milk coma since she'd missed her morning nap.  I love a sweet sleeping baby face and the little bit of milk drool just adds to the cuteness, if you ask me!

She fell asleep again on the way home from church with her toy in her hand..sleepy girl!

The Davises came and ate lunch with us out on the patio while the kids played, then the girls napped.  When Adeline got up, she helped her Daddy wash his truck.

She quickly grew tired of that and decided to jump on the trampoline.

And play in the mud...

And the water hose...

And wash her tricycle...

We had such a great weekend enjoying the fantastic spring weather God blessed us with.  We're looking forward to a whole week of it this week!

Annabel is 6 Months Old!

My baby is already halfway to being a year old.  How is that possible?

What is Annabel doing at 6 months?

  • Sleeping 12 hours at night (8-8) with the exception of me waking you at 5 for meds & a quick little bit of nursing.
    • You often wake up in the middle of the night, but if you're in your bed, you'll usually just roll over and go back to sleep. Sometimes you will lie in there and talk for a while before falling back asleep.
  • Nursing every 2.5-3 hours during the day
  • Eating solids
    • So far you have tried avocados, bananas, & sweet potatoes.  Sweet potatoes are your favorite.  Up to this point, you usually only eat about 2 ounces of this in the evening at supper time.
    • We are about to start giving you solids 3 times a day at mealtimes.
  • Rolling every direction
  • Scooting backwards & starting to pull your knees under you to try to move forward.  Today you pushed off from the chair behind you and scooted yourself forward & you were very surprised by this.
  • You started sitting up on your own 3 days before your 6 month birthday (3-16-12)
  • Constantly trying to grab everything.  I have to give you a toy on the changing table or you try to pull the curtains down.
  • Still wearing 3-6 month or 6 month clothes with the exception of a few outfits.
  • Wearing size 2 diapers.
  • Your two little front bottom teeth are trying to come in.  You have been chewing on everything and your gums are white and I can see them right under the surface.  I might have you to wean you early because you bite me all the time.  I know it's going to be excruciating when those teeth come in!
  • You're aware of strangers and would much prefer your momma over anyone else.
  • You think your sister and your daddy are hilarious!
  • You are very very smart.  You know what's about to happen when I open the door to your room.  You start crying as soon as I get out your sleepsack, but then you realize it's ok and go to sleep within 5 minutes of being laid down.
You scooted about 5 feet from your mat & got yourself stuck under the chair yesterday!

We went for your 6 month well-child visit today.  The doctor said everything looks perfect and right on track.  Your stats are:
  • Head Circumference
    • 17.5 inches - 90%
  • Weight
    • 15lbs 3oz - 40%
  • Height
    • 28.25 inches - above 99%
The doctor said we need to get you a basketball or volleyball for each hand because you're going to be tall!

Annabel, we love you so much!  You are such a happy, patient, peaceful little girl.  You bring so much joy to all of our lives.  We can't wait to see how your personality develops in the future.

And for the usual comparison shot, Adeline at 6 months...

And Adeline yesterday when she got jealous & actually posed for a picture :)

Ft. Worth/Cousins' Weekend 2012

The girls and I flew to Ft. Worth, Texas on Thursday for a weekend with our cousins.  Two of my cousins have recently had babies that I still had not met, so we planned a weekend to all meet up in Fort Worth for a visit.  We had such a great time and have decided to try and make it an annual event.

My mom picked us up from the airport and we headed over to my great aunt Mary's for the weekend.

The next day, the girls, my mom, and I went to walk around TCU campus and meet up with my college bestie, Ashley.  It has changed completely since when I graduated, but it is still just as beautiful as I remember, if not more so!

And we even ran into Super Frog!  Adeline looks scared in this pic, but I think it was the highlight of her weekend.  She has been telling everyone we got to see Super Frog.  :)

My favorite time of year at TCU..tulip time!

After a tour of TCU and a stop at the bookstore, we headed to lunch at my all-time favorite Mexican food place... Joe T Garcia's!  We met another one of my great aunts, Charlotte, her daughter Kelly, and two of Kelly's kids.

After lunch, it was naptime for Annabel.  Ashley came back over to Mary's house for a bit more visiting.

And after nap, Annabel decided she was ready to sit up.

Then, my cousin Jessica and her adorable son Judd got into town!

We could not keep Adeline & Judd out of the water!

All of us with our babies!

The best group shot I got!

Saturday morning, we all ventured out to the Ft. Worth Zoo!  Most of the babies were less than impressed, but Adeline LOVED it.

And we got to ride the carousel!

And the train!

After the zoo, Adeline was quite worn out and needed a rest & a bottle of water...haha!

Before we knew it, it was our last night together.  We all hung out over at my great aunt Carolyn's and ordered in for supper.

Cousin Cari gave Adeline her first pedicure :)

While we were packing up to leave, Adeline entertained Annabel on the bed.

I was exhausted when we got home yesterday and I'm still not completely caught up on sleep, but it was all worth it.  We had such a wonderful time!
