Hodge Podge

Not a lot to report here, but I've got some pictures anyway.

My parents came up just to visit last weekend.  We had breakfast on Saturday at MiMi's.  The girls got lots of coloring done while we waited for our food.

That afternoon, the Rausches invited us to go with them to a Razorback basketball game.  It was so much fun!  I can't believe it took us five years of living here before we attended our first Razorback sporting event.

Poor little Annabel is still trying to cut those canine teeth.  Only one has appeared so far and she is just miserable.  She tries to chew on just about anything, including the granite countertop.

We spent a lot of time at home last week because of a fussy, teething baby and bad weather.  It was nice, though.  It gave us lots of time together to play.  I had just washed the girls' lovies and they were so excited to get them fresh out of the dryer.

Annabel has started playing pretend with baby dolls.

This is what happens with a fussy, teething baby when I'm trying to cook dinner.  She would not go to Jon or allow me to let her feet touch the ground.

We had a garden tea party one day.

We pulled out the crib mattress for some gross motor fun this week.  It was way too cold to go outside and we had lots of energy to burn.

And we practiced some fine motor skills as well.

On Friday we'd had enough.  Adeline said, "Where are we going today?"  I told her we were going to the mall to play at Gymnastic Joe's.  She said, "Oh that will be so fun to go bye bye.  I'm tired of being in the house!"

Saturday, Cousin Murry came to play.

Ever since my Houston trip I've been dying for some delicious tortillas.  Those are few and far between up here, so Jon decided to make me some.

Sunday we finally had some beautiful weather, so we spent the afternoon outside.  Adeline said, "let's all sit down in this sunshine and rest a while."

Now we're in for some more winter weather this week.  I hope I can come up with some more indoor activities to keep us all sane.  :)

Our Valentine Week

Monday
We weren't all quite back to 100% health, but nobody had a fever, so both girls went to school.  They didn't want to miss their Valentine parties.

Tuesday
Feeling a little better, but those darn canine teeth are still giving Annabel fits.  But you can teethe at home, or you can teethe while having fun.  So, we went to visit the nursing home to pass out Valentines with our friends.

Annabel & Caroline have become besties.

It is so funny trying to get a picture of this many small children...

All the fun wore Annabel out!  Adeline was saying, "Wake up, Sister!  We're home!"

That afternoon we went over to Shannon's for a fun little Valentine cookie decorating party.

Thursday
The real deal!  Happy Valentine's Day!

Our friendly neighborhood grandma, Judy, came over to watch Annabel.  Not only did she give up her morning to play with my sweet girl, she came bearing Valentine gifts for both girls!  Isn't it amazing how God shows us love through the people in our lives?
Then I took Adeline to her dentist appointment.  She doesn't have any cavities, but she already has her first loose tooth!  The hygienist informed me this was perfectly normal.  It's the first baby tooth she got at 6 months old.  It's also just barely loose so hopefully it will still be a while before it falls out.  I am not ready for that!  She's still my baby!  I thought that was a big kid thing.  :)

Then we finger-painted Valentines for Daddy.

When Daddy got home it was time to exchange gifts!

And I finally got a heart-shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's.  I've wanted one every year, but don't ever think about it in time.  This was the year and they were so delicious!

And our Valentine "Adeline funny" after dinner....

A: (grabs her grocery cart) I'm going to the store!
Me: Ok.  Get me some chips and some milk, please.
A: Ok!  Chocolate?
Jon: No, just plain milk.
A:  Hey!  You stay out of this!

I hope your Valentine's Day was as full of love as mine was!

Parties & Sickies

Lots of our plans last week came to a screeching halt when Annabel woke up with a fever on Wednesday.  She still had the fever on Thursday, so we made a trip to the doctor in the rain.  He did nothing for her and pretty much just told us to let it run its course.  When she woke up with matted, gunky eyes on Friday and an even higher fever, we went to our favorite doctor whom we were unable to see the previous day.  She diagnosed her with a sinus infection & sent us home with a liquid z-pack.  She ran a fever Wednesday-Sunday morning, so spent a lot of time at home.

Adeline had the same runny nose, but no fever.  She was going a little stir crazy, so we let her jump on the furniture.  Maybe not the best parenting decision, but she needed some gross motor activities in a bad way.

Adeline was invited to two different birthday parties on Saturday.  The first was Hailey's princess ballerina party.  Adeline was in heaven.

This is her princess face...

Poor little Annabel still wasn't feeling well.  She and her daddy had a lot of fun together just hanging out at home.

The next party was Anniston's Elmo party at The Little Gym..one of Adeline's favorite places.

On Sunday, everyone was still pretty puny, so we stayed home from church.  Adeline requested a "Valentine giraffe" to color.

And since we weren't going anywhere, I let her dress herself in her dress-up clothes.  This is what she chose.  Makes this Horned Frog momma so proud!

Our colds are all still lingering, but no fevers to report!  Hallelujah!  Hopefully this week we can resume our normal activities & have fun at all our Valentine's events.
