Aunt Ashley

Ashley, my friend from college, came in town to visit this weekend!  We had so much fun.  We picked her up from the Tulsa airport on Friday then met another sorority sister and her two precious girls for lunch.  It was so nice hanging out with Jessica and meeting Lucy & Penny.  :)

Friday night, Jon, Adeline and I took Ashley to two of our favorite places to eat in Fayetteville, Hammontrees & Orange Leaf yogurt.  We all thoroughly enjoyed both!

Saturday we headed back to Fayetteville for some Farmer's Market fun.  I think Ashley enjoyed it and was surprised by all the hippies...haha.  Adeline, of course, enjoyed some dancing.

We grabbed some sandwiches at home for lunch, then went to the Springdale Aquatic Center where we met the Davises for some splashing & cooling off.
The only pic I got of Adeline with her Aunt Ash.  :(

We got sno-cones for the ride home and Ashley shared hers with Adeline.  Adeline was just about covered in red syrup, but she was one happy girl!

While Adeline napped, Ash & I did a bit of Target shopping.  We just hung out around the house that evening and Adeline did one of the cutest things I've ever seen her do.
She and I were in her room and I was putting up laundry.  Adeline was holding Ace, then went and got a baby doll out of her basket.  She sat on the floor with both rocking back & forth & singing/talking to them.  Then she laid them both down, went to her CD player on her crib & tried her hardest to turn it on.  Then she gave up, went to her sound machine and turned it on.  She then went back over to her baby and Ace, bent down, gave her baby a kiss, patted her & said, "Night night, Baby."  It just melted my heart!  It was exactly our nighttime routine and it was so sweet.  I couldn't decide if I was going to cry because of excitement at how sweet & smart she is, or from sadness that she's growing up so fast!

We made fajitas for dinner & Uncle Shane joined us.  We then spent some time playing in the sprinkler in the front yard & watching the ice cream van go by.  I'm glad she doesn't know what it is yet..haha.

Sunday we went to church and I was so excited for Adeline to finally get to wear this adorable little outfit my grandma bought her.

We lounged around all Sunday afternoon, then Sunday night Ash & I went to eat & to see Bridesmaids.  It was so crude & tacky, but I laughed the hardest I've laughed in a long time.  It was so fun to get some girl/adult time in this weekend!

A few other points from the weekend:
  • Adeline couldn't decide if she was going to call Ashley "Ash" or "MiMi"  It was hilarious!
  • She said "horse" & "cow" for the first time while she & Ashley were looking at a book.
  • Ashley used to be a nanny and is now a school teacher.  It was so nice having her around this weekend.  She was not put out in anyway by my child's behavior and she was sooooo helpful, loving, & patient with Adeline.  We were all sad to see her go!
  • Adeline started running a very slight fever last night and it's been teetering on the edge all day, so now we're about to head to the doctor.  :(
