Texas Adventure: Part 2 - Flight Deck & Preston

After lunch at the museum we went to a fun new trampoline place called Flight Deck.  I'd never seen anything like it.  I think it was the most fun I've had in a while.  The place was covered in trampolines.  They had several areas, one for dodge ball, basketball, a foam pit, a place for small kids.  I jumped until it rattled my brain around enough to give me a headache..hah!  We had a blast!

Annabel loved jumping off the trampoline to my cousin Cari in the foam pit.

While Annabel napped that afternoon, Adeline and Judd watched some TV.

Then I finally got to meet my college friend's precious little Preston!  When it was time for him to eat, Adeline insisted that she needed to feed him his bottle.

I love going to Fort Worth and catching up with all my college friends!

Texas Adventure: Part 2 - Children's Museum

The next morning we got an early start for our busy day.  First, we had to get some food fuel and a little reading done with cousin Judd.

Then it was off to the Children's Museum!

Checking out the "nake" as Annabel calls snakes.

Adeline and cousin Dylan taking care of the babies in the hospital.

Annabel the ambulance driver.

We found a giant light bright.  So much fun!

Water tables!

I think this was my girls' favorite part.  It was an interactive movie where the chairs moved, etc.  At one point a dinosaur comes on screen and roars and you get water sprayed in your face.  Annabel loved to tell everyone who asked what the dinosaur did, "Spit, spit! Leg!"

Shopping in the pretend store.

My grandmother used to take me to this museum every time I'd go visit her, so it brought back many fond memories.  They have completely redone it lately and my girls loved it.  If you live in the Fort Worth area and have small children, go check it out!

Texas Adventure: Part 1

We spent last week in Texas to visit family and attend our 2nd Annual "Cousins Week" in Fort Worth. It all started last Monday when the girls and I loaded up and headed on our way to the big New Boston.

We stayed Monday night with my in-laws and my parents came over and brought BBQ.  Annabel discovered ribs and decided they were her favorite.

The next morning, the girls and I loaded back up and headed toward DFW.  We stopped in Dallas and had lunch with my college roommate, Lindsey, and her precious daughter, Caroline.  It was a short visit, but so much fun to catch up!

After lunch we went on to my great aunt's house in Fort Worth for "Cousins Week."

I unloaded the car and we immediately changed into our swimsuits.

We spent the whole evening outside either in or by the pool.  My aunt had been to Toys 'R Us and pretty much bought the place out.  The girls had so much fun!

Annabel slept on an air mattress by herself.  It was a first for her to not be in a crib.

Stay tuned for Part 2....

See you next year, May!

It's the first of June!  How did that happen?  This is how we ended May.

Annabel sat on this rug and looked at a book for the longest time.  I thought it was so sweet!

Tulip celebrated her 9th birthday this week.  I can't believe I've had her that long.  Adeline said, "Why we not have a cake and presents for her?"

My patriotic cuties on Memorial Day.

We had a Memorial Day fellowship with our small group last Sunday night. We had a great time at the lake, even though I never got in the water.

I love how Annabel is so friendly.  She sat in Mr. Rausch's lap while he read to her for the longest time.

On Monday we explored a new trail near our house.

Adeline put this on herself while we were cooking dinner one night and I overheard her singing, "Rah Rah TCU.  I love TCU. I want to go to TCU!"

Annabel is afraid of nothing and quite accident-prone.  I fear her knees will look like this all summer!

We met the Davises at Gymnastic Joe's in the mall on Tuesday.

Wednesday we went with the Sanchezes to the Botanical Gardens for their Little Sprouts program.  The lesson was on soil and planting that day.  My girls loved it!

After the program, we spent an hour exploring the gardens.  The girls had so much fun and wore themselves and me out!  It was perfect for Adeline's age, but made me so nervous for Annabel.  She thought she could do everything Adeline was doing, like walking across a goldfish pond on stepping stones!  Made me a nervous wreck.

A lot of times I have to convince to Adeline wear a certain outfit or fix her hair a certain way by telling her how cute she is.  She always runs to the mirror afterwards as if to see if I know what I'm talking about.

We also went to Monkey House this week.  Annabel thinks she's three or older.  She climbed this 20+ foot tall slide by herself multiple times.  I think she's out to give me a heart attack before I'm 30!

She knocked over Tulip's water bowl, so I made her clean it up.  I think she thought it was fun rather than punishment.

Another vintage consignment find.  I couldn't pass up the kites to show our Kappa Alpha Theta love!

Annabel has started trying to talk in sentences.  I love it.  She was telling me here, "Rock, rock, bonk!" I'm pretty sure she was telling me about the time (more than a month ago) that she fell out of the rocking chair and hit her head.

Another cute thing she's doing lately is she calls strawberries "ba-ba-ba-berries" from the Strawberry Shortcake theme song.  I was eating some the other day and she said, "Mommy eat ba-ba-ba-berries!"

They were playing with this jack-in-the-box yesterday.  I love that I caught this reaction on camera!

Last night we went to play with Henry.  Annabel rode this roller-coaster a hundred times.

I can't wait to see what fun June has for us!
