I wanted to devote a post to all the adorable Christmas outfits Adeline has worn this year.
My mom and I found this outfit at War Eagle. She wore it on Christmas day.
I found this little outfit at Wal-Mart. She wore it a lot since Thanksgiving since it's very comfy.
My MIL appliqued this onesie for her. It's too cute.
This outfit is from Target. I'm thinking she can maybe wear it after Christmas. :)
My MIL also made this little jumper. It is reversible. This side has her monogram on it.
This is the other side. Aren't the little cookie jar buttons adorable?
This is from Crazy 8. I think she might wear it after Christmas too.
I got this from a consignment sale. This is one of my favorite pictures. She still looks like a baby in this picture instead of a big girl.
I appliqued this little shirt for her. I chose pink since she had so much red already.
My mom's friend, Darla bought this for her. So sweet!
I bought this outfit last January at Gymboree for 1/2 off. I bought 12 months and the pants are HUGE. I let her wear them for a few hours on Christmas Eve just so I didn't waste my money and a whole year waiting for her to wear it.
My grandma bought her this one. She wore it on Christmas Eve.
And last, but certainly not least, my very talented MIL made this.
I just love all her adorable Christmas outfits. I dread the day that she no longer lets me put her in holiday-themed attire. :)

What is Christmas?
Just what is Christmas anyway? Why do we celebrate? Why is December 25 a very special date? Is it about the Christmas tree, with all the twinkling lights?
Is it about the Christmas cards, the ones my mommy writes?
Is it about the mistletoe, where Mommy & Daddy kiss?
Is it about the Christmas play, the one we never miss? Is Christmas about Christmas gifts? I love them very much.
Is Christmas about Santa Claus? His beard is fun to touch.
Is Christmas about candy canes? I think they taste quite nice.
Is Christmas about Santa's list? They say he checks it twice. Or maybe it's about the food! Mom's Christmas cookies rule!
Or maybe it's about the snow. White Christmases are cool!
Is it about the Christmas songs, the ones we sing each year? Is it about the Christmas elves and Santa's eight reindeer?
No, that's not what Christmas is about! All of these things are really nice, and superduper fun, but Christmas is much more than that, it's all about God's son. God sent his son, Jesus Christ from heaven up above. He came to earth to save the world - God's greatest gift of love. So, Christmas is the Lord's birthday the day he came to earth. Forever we will celebrate his very special birth!
Okay, now I get it. Santa Claus and Christmas trees and presents are okay, but Jesus is the real reason we have a Christmas day!

Momday
Adeline and I have had our typical Monday. We started off with a trip to the dermatologist then the grocery store. While waiting to fill her prescription, she proceeded to through the BIGGEST tantrum I've seen yet. I made the mistake of letting her get out of the cart while we waited and walk around. Well when it was time to go, she did not want to be picked back up. She screamed, or squealed, and cried, and flailed, and bucked, but I held on and didn't give in. I wanted so bad to just put her down & let her have her way, but I knew better. She screamed all the way out to the car and tried her hardest to not let me buckle her in the carseat, but again, I won. :)
This weekend my parents gave me my Christmas gift early..a new iPhone 4! I absolutely love it. I've been playing with the camera on it all day.
She learned to stack today. I'm really trying hard to let her guide our playtime and not turn everything into an OT session. I let her pick what to play with then I try to teach her things about them, etc. She was consistently stacking 3 blocks, but of course couldn't quite get that third one once I got out the camera...
I think she might have a virus, though. She threw up four times yesterday and once again tonight. She hasn't had much of an appetite the past 2 days either and that's not like her at all. I sure hope she's better by Christmas!

TSO
Trans Siberian Orchestra, that is...
We traveled to Little Rock yesterday to meet my parents for a concert. I had heard it was tons of fun and that Adeline would enjoy it since it's fast-paced music with a fantastic light show. We met at the hotel and let Adeline play some before we headed to the concert. She showed her grandparents her climbing skills...
We tried to get a good family shot before we left, but she wasn't being very cooperative.
I'll have to take another picture of her in this outfit since you can't really see it in this picture.
The concert was great. It was very loud, but that didn't seem to bother Adeline at all. It got a little slow and Adeline was getting antsy, so we left about 30 minutes early, but we still all had a great time. Afterwards we went to a mall so Adeline could burn off some energy. She had been stuck in the car all morning, then stuck in our laps all afternoon. She walked and walked and walked at the mall until she just couldn't walk anymore. We all went to bed last night at 8:30!
I got this picture before we got in the car to head home today. I think Adeline is working on another molar...
Our trip home was fairly uneventful until we pulled in the driveway and Adeline threw up TWICE! I hope she was just carsick and not getting some virus...

Wild Thing
I snapped a few cute pictures of Adeline after her bath last night. Since she has excema pretty much all over her body, she has the skin care routine of a 60 year old woman. Needless to say, she does NOT like to sit still for all her lotions and creams.
Jon said she looked like a "wild thing" from that children's book. I think she definitely acts like one!

Toddlerhood
We can officially say we have a toddler now. I don't know if I'm prepared for this. She's no longer content to sit very long at restaurants or in the shopping cart, or anywhere for that matter. She's also very good at letting you (& everyone else around) know when she's not content. I bought The Happiest Toddler on the Block on my Kindle today. I plan on reading it cover to cover and implementing some, if not all, of Dr. Karp's suggestions. We are going to do our best to raise an even-tempered, polite child.
We tried out a booster seat at Outback last night, but it didn't last for long. Unless Dr. Karp has some great advice about eating out, I think our restaurant days are over for a while.
I had to work today so Jon took Adeline with him to Sam's for a few things and to get the tires on my car balanced and rotated. They ended up having to wait for almost 2 hours, so Adeline got to roam around and explore a little.

Can't quite squeeze in there
Hello?
(I have no idea where she got this phone & I'm not going to ask)
Poor Jon experienced a major diaper blow-out at Sam's and had to brave the "family" bathroom and wash off her pants thanks to me forgetting to keep an extra pair of clothes in her diaper bag...oops! He handled it well, though. Yet another reason he gets the Super Dad award!
This evening we grilled steaks with Jarrod and worked on a little craft project. I saw this idea in a Pottery Barn catalog for ~$200 and knew I could make it for a lot cheaper (or knew Jon could). I bought this frame half off at Hobby Lobby for $25. We had the wire at home and the clips cost about $7.
Adeline loves looking at the cards. She points to her friend Westin's picture and says the same thing every time. It's not "baby" and it's not "Westin" so it must be her own little made up name for him. :)
One of Adeline's new favorite things to do is get under the kitchen table and push all the chairs out until they stop. It's funny and harmless and keeps her out of trouble, so we let her.
Now I'm about to cuddle on the couch with my hubby and watch some Sing-Off!
