Happy Birthday, Adeline!

Adeline officially turned 2 years old today.  Our original plan was to take turns every year spending our children's birthdays with them doing whatever they wanted.  I spent last year's birthday with Adeline so it was Jon's turn this year.  However, since I was already off work on maternity leave, it only made sense that I spend it with her again so Jon wouldn't have to take off.  I am really glad I got to spend the day with her, though.

Right after waking up (& fixing her hair).

Getting ready to start our day...

Jon met us at gymnastics and went to Adeline's class with her.

Then, Adeline, Annabel, and I met Shannon & Westin at CFA for lunch.  We got there early so the kids would have the play area all to themselves.  They loved it!  I realized today that Westin has spent every one of Adeline's birthdays with her.  He was in the womb when Shannon was at the hospital the night I had Adeline, he went to the library with us last year, and lunch today.  I hope we can carry on this tradition for many years to come.  :)

When we got home, we spent some time playing and coloring.  Yes, outfit change from food and yuckiness on her clothes.

When she got up from her nap, I made her a special snack...cheetohs & fruit snacks.

 She was so excited.

Our friends Mark, Abby, & Ava welcomed their newest addition today, Landon Michael.  We went to visit them in the hospital.  Landon & Adeline are now birthday buddies!

While Jon and I cooked dinner, Adeline played with her baby sister.  She loves piling toys on top of her.

We cooked Adeline's favorite meal..pasta, peas, and garlic bread.  Yummy!

Then she got to eat the white chocolate "2" from her birthday cake.  She was super excited about this.

We had another little present for her to open after dinner.  She got her big gift last weekend (the trampoline) but we wanted her to be able to open something on her birthday.
Yes, another outfit change because she stretched the neck all out in the previous shirt from taking it on & off.
It's two little dolls.  One says "Big Sister" & the other says "Little Sister."

Even though it was rainy & stormy all day, we had a great time celebrating our big two-year-old.  Time flies!  Adeline, we love you so very much and can't wait to spend many more special birthdays with you in the years to come.
